Pomodoro Study Timer

How the Pomodoro study timer works

The Pomodoro technique splits your study time into short, focused blocks. Work for 25 minutes with no distractions, then take a 5 minute break. After four focus sessions, take a longer break of about 15 minutes. Press Start, work until the timer finishes, and the timer will switch to your break automatically.

Tips for better focus sessions

Decide what you will work on before you press Start, and put your phone out of reach. Use breaks to stand up, stretch or drink water rather than scrolling. If 25 minutes feels too short for deep work, try a few sessions first and then adjust how you plan your day.

Frequently asked questions

Why are study breaks useful?

Short breaks give your brain a rest and make it easier to start the next block. Many students find regular breaks make long study days feel more manageable.

Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The timer uses your device clock, so it stays accurate while you work in another tab. The remaining time is also shown in the tab title.
